Well, all I have to say is Thank God I have a wonderful and very patient instructor this semester! My clinical day on Thursday was probably the worst yet. It would be hard to explain it all through my blog so I won't go into too much detail but I just had a "bad student nurse" kind of day. As I arrived on the floor that morning, I could tell that I just didn't feel 100%- my neuromuscular disease was bothering me more than usual. Most of you know about my symptoms, how I get weak and fatigued more easily than most. I was getting ready to give my patient some pain and nausea medicines through her IV and my instructor was with me to observe. My weakness made me shaky and being shaky made me nervous about my performance. Put that all together and I was a mess! I made some silly errors and I felt like I was braindead. Fortunately I had a very understanding patient and my instructor was willing to help me through it all. Everything was fine in the end but I was just very disappointed in myself. I was ready for the day to be over!
In theory, we are getting to wrap up our cardiac unit (already?!). Time to start studying hard for the cardiac test that could potentially kick my butt! I'll keep you posted!
Have a good weekend!
P.S.-No opportunities for IV starts yet! :(

I agree - we all have "those" days. Thankfully the good ones (of which you have FAR more - go back and read your posts!) outweigh the icky ones. Hang in there!!
